School Policies
a) THE SCHOOL is acting under the authority of the Executive Committee of Sharda Mansukhlal Kothari Charitable Trust and will be referred to as MKNS.
b) THE PRINCIPAL is the person appointed by the Executive Committee of the Trust to assume duties and responsibilities as Principal of the School. The principal is responsible for the students while in the care of the school, and also includes those to whom any of the responsibilities and duties of the principal are given by the Executive Committee.
c) SCHOOL'S AIM The aim is to strike a balance between academic studies, moral, spiritual and physical education and the pursuit of leisure activities. The school is committed to high standards of teaching and care.
A progressive and forward-looking school must initiate and respond to change. It is likely that there will be certain changes at the school during the year, where the child is a student of MKNS.
a) HEALTH AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS:
- Parent should inform the principal if the student has any known medical condition/ disability or health problem, or unable to take part in physical or sports activities.
- Students must not be sent to school if unfit to attend or is suffering from any contagious disease.
- The school will endeavour to look after the student in the event of any emergency health problems during school hours. However, the school will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise during the course of such emergency treatment.
- No half day will be allowed during examination. If the child is unwell, please do not send the child for the examination.
- A student feeling unwell should be allowed to recover at home and not to be sent to school.
- A written application for the same to be submitted to the class teacher when the student joins back.
- In case, a student feels unwell at school and is required to be sent back home the parents will be contacted and the student will be handed over only on showing valid authorization card of parents.
b) THE SCHOOL ALMANAC:
- Every student must carry this almanac to school every day and use it productively.
- The school almanac provides information about the student's role, scheduled events, holidays and the school code of conduct.
- Every student and parents are required to abide by the code.
- Parents to check the almanac regularly and acknowledge it.
- The student is expected to take part in the activities of the school, to attend each school day, to work hard to the best of his/her ability and to be well- behaved.
- Parents agree to observe the term/ vacation dates which will normally be published in advance.
- 75% of attendance is mandatory for the promotion to the next grade especially grade X and XII to fill the exam form and take exam.
a) FEE PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
Parents are expected to pay fees on or before the dates as given on entab or specified in school circulars.
b) FEE POLICIES:
1. Sibling discount is 10% on the tuition fee for the younger child.
2. A 5% discount will be offered on the total fees for a one-time annual payment made at the start of the year by the first quarter’s due date.
3. lncase the cheque is dishonored by the bank, bank charges of Rs.500/-will be charged.
4. In all cases, a calendar months' notice must be given before a student is withdrawn. Failure to provide the requisite notice will result in payment (or become adjustable against any balance with the school) of fees for the full succeeding month in lieu becoming due and payable as a debt and may be charged at any time after withdrawal, whether or not the place can be filled.
5. Fee payment can be done either through school app or through DD in school office. However, all parents are encouraged to use the payment gateway through the ERP link
6. If the fee remains overdue for more than 3 months, the name of the child will be struck off from the school register and the child will have to go for readmission to continue in school.
7. The child will not be permitted to appear for examination unless fee is paid as per schedule.
8. Books, uniform, stationery, transport, cafeteria, annual day costume, all external examination or competition charges conducted from time to time, will be charged additionally as and when floated in school for the respective classes. Any additional facilities added in the school will definitely incur a charge. Transport fee can also be revised periodically.
9. If a Library book is not returned or reissued within a week, a late fee of Rs 50 will be charged daily.
10. If a Library book is lost or damaged the MRP of the book will be charged.
11. A fine of Rs. 200/- will be charged if a student is found having Non-Veg food. Strictly vegetarian food should be sent.
12. If a child is absent without information on the first or last day of the Winter, Diwali and Summer vacation, a fine of Rs 100 will be charged.
c) PAYMENT FOR EXTRA SERVICES: The school is only an agent in respect of any goods and services, which are supplied by a third party via the school to parents or students. Fees will not be refunded or waived for absence through sickness; nor if a term is shortened or a vacation extended and even if the student is absent.
d) RESPONSIBILITY OF PAYMENT: Paying fees is the joint responsibility of each person who has signed the admission form. The school may withhold information; property or examination certificates while fees are unpaid. The school may recover any other administrative and bank charges, or any incurred legal costs, which will be charged on fees, fees in lieu of notice and extras that are unpaid by the due date. Such charges will be recoverable by legal action, if necessary.
a) NOTICE means a calendar month's written notice in person or acknowledgment to the e mail address of the school by both the parents/guardians who have signed the admission form will suffice. Provisional Notice for any purpose is valid only for the term in which it is given and only when written and accepted in writing by the principal. Quarter means a period of three months, basis on which fees is collected. Fees in lieu means fees in full for the term of notice at the rate that would have applied had the student attended and not limited to any contribution in the case of a scholarship/freeship.
b) WITHDRAWAL:
- In almost all cases, a calendar months’ notice must be given before a student is withdrawn.
- Failure to provide the requisite notice will result in payment (or becomes adjustable against any balance with the school) of the fee for the full succeeding month.
- Transfer certificate will be issued on the clearance of all dues.
- Refund of the security can be collected within months of withdrawal on producing original receipt and after the collection of TC.
c) CANCELLATION: One months fees is payable by the parent in lieu of notice, if they cancel the acceptance of admission or the student does not join the school.
d) REMOVAL:
Parents may be required, one calendar month's notice in writing from the school, to remove a student permanently, after consultation with the parents. School will not be liable to refund any fees to the parents unless all outstanding dues have been paid in full.
e) EXPULSION:
The student may be expelled at anytime if the conduct of a parent of the students (whether on or off school premises or in or out of term time), the principal is reasonably satisfied that such conduct has been prejudicial to good order or school discipline or to the reputation of the school or if for some other reason the continued presence of the student is incompatible.
- Students can bring small size chocolates/ toffees for their classmates only Grades 1 to 5.
- Parents must not send expensive/imported chocolates.
- No gift for teachers/ students to be sent in any form of stationery.
- Grade 6 onwards students can donate a book (informative /interesting) for their class library. (No chocolates/toffees distribution is allowed)
- Coloured clothes can be worn by students from Grades 1 to 5 only.
- School will be working from Monday to Friday.
- Any 2 Saturdays of the month would be working for students.
- Working Saturdays will be informed through circular.
- Reporting ti me to school is 7: 50 am.
- Assembly starts at 7: 55 am.
- School gate will be closed at 7: 55 am. (Sharp)
- If the child is late to school he/she will not be allowed.
- Students are not allowed to carry big pouches.
- Only transparent pouches with limited required material is allowed. i.e. 2 Pens, Pencils, Scale, Eraser.
- Whiteners, Markers of any kind are not allowed.
- Geometry Boxes and Art material to be carried as per the time table.
- Parents to download the Campuscare app from the Play Store (Android) or APP Store (iOS) which will help them to get updated about the instructions given, upcoming events, important notices, important circulars from (Principal, Administration, Teachers), academic plans, portion and classwork+ homework.
- Almanac is the mode of communication for parents with the principal, coordinator and teacher. Parents must use 'Parent- Teacher communication' pages for this purpose.
- a) SCHOOL TRANSPORTRULES & REGULATIONS:
The school offers transport facility for a11 students in order to develop community travelling habit amongst the students i.e. the citizens of tomorrow.

- School transport fee is fixed.
- One way facility is also available subject to payment of full fees.
- Transport facility is available from designated points, contact Administrative Officer or Transport In-Charge for details.
- Parent/ Guardian is expected to co-operate with the school by ensuring that their ward
travelling by the school transport reports to the allotted point well in time. Bus attendant will not call for the same.
- Parents/ Guardian are expected to show their "Parent Authorization Card" before picking up their ward from the allotted point.
- Parents are requested to do all types of communication only with Transport incharge of the school and not with the driver/maid/vendor.
- A written request from the parent is required in case the student will be picked up by the parent during the working hours, which should be given (submitted) at the front desk before 11:00 am.
- Due care should be taken not to damage the interiors of the bus.
a) UNIFORM AND APPEARANCE: - Uniforms give an exclusive identity to students and promote a feeling of unity and discipline among students.
- Students must wear clean, tidy and prescribed school uniform on all the school days.
- Uniform must be well fitted and should be well ironed. Students with improper uniform will be given a remark in the almanac. The students with improper uniform, hair, shoes will not be allowed to attend the school classes, any activity/exam etc.
- Girls are allowed to wear small studs or earrings.
- Girls having long hair, to tie their hair in 2 plaits.
- Shoulder length hair, wear 2 ponytails with black rubber band, hair bands and clips.
- Children having short hair should ensure that their hair does not fall on the face and need to wear black hair band with black clips.
- Girls are not permitted to have streaked hair, fancy hairstyle.
- Any kind of makeup and nail paint is not allowed during the school.
- Mehendi is allowed only during festivals till the palm of each hand.
- Boys are not permitted to have streaked hair, fancy hairstyle, Long Hair etc.
- Wearing bracelets, chains, bands, thick kada etc is strictly not permitted.
- Boys must have crew cut. (very short hair)
- Student must ensure that lights and fans are switched off when not in use.
- Library books should be returned on time. No rough play is allowed on the school ground.
- All sports equipment to be handled with utmost care and responsibility. In case of any damage or misplacement of any sports equipment, students will be charged a fine for the same.
- Students must always use respectful and appropriate language.
- Students who avail bus facility will go directly from the class to the bus boarding area and will wait calmly in the bus parking area.
- When moving as a class, students must walk silently, in a single file on the left-hand side of the staircase/ corridors. No pushing will be allowed.
- Students leaving the classroom for any reason must carry a "CLASSOUT PASS" or a note from the concerned teacher.
- Restrooms/ toilets must be used during class; students will note their exit from and return to the classroom in the manner specified by their teacher.
- Students must always flush the toilet, and leave the stalls unlocked after use and remember to turn off all taps and flush corks without fail.
Grade 1 to 10 students are not allowed to carry mobile phones inside the school premises. School does not have any provision to collect the phones. In case, a student is found bringing mobile phone, it will be confiscated.

- No non-veg food to be carried to school.
- No tiffin boxes will be accepted by school. Student must carry it with them.
- To ensure healthier food storage, all students must carry only steel tiffins.

- Writing obscene graffiti on the wall inside the toilets is not desirable or permissible. It is punishable.
- Students must be courteous and use appropriate language while they ride a bus.
- Students are not permitted to eat or drink in the bus.
- Bullying younger students on the bus comes under "Zero Tolerance" and will be dealt with in accordance with the school's discipline policy.
- Students must not push, kick, hit punch or exhibit any act of violence.
- Students must not indulge in racial taunts, painting graffiti or making obscene gestures. It is punishable.
- Students must not withdraw from competition (academics /sports) at last moment, strict action will follow.
CONSEQUENCES: -Consequences, if the above-mentioned behaviour is not met: -
- Verbal reprimand
- Re-direction - by showing a student the proper behaviour.
- Parent involvement.
- Suspension
- Rustication on repetition of any act of bullying.
